The very lush and mountainous  Sintra  landscape provides a charming setting for this beautiful property – it sits on a sunny valley with views to the Moorish castle, Pena Palace and Quinta da Regaleira - yet it is only 5 minutes to the village center and all it’s amenities.

The interiors of Quinta da Vila have been decorated in a classic style and offer every comfort: it is well equipped with cable TV, DVD, VCR, music system, wi-fi internet and central heating throughout. Being located in the old royal hunting grounds of Sintra, some walls are adorned with hunting trophies, and the villa has  original flag stone floors on the ground floor whilst the first floor is wood lined.  All the bedrooms have spacious fitted wardrobes and mountain views. There is also a covered terrace with lovely views for outdoor dining with a barbeque area nearby.

The gardens surrounding this property are terraced and planted with many fruit trees with the swimming pool and surrounding lawn, sitting at its lowest level. The garden cottage is currently not available for rental and is used by the resident staff. Adjacent to this building is a spacious covered area with a table tennis and darts board available for clients use.

Sintra was quoted by Byron as “my glorious Eden” and is a World Heritage Site today, with much to offer in terms of culture and sightseeing, restaurants and nearby sports amenities. Excellent beaches, golf and a Casino at Estoril are all within a very short driving distance.

NB There are several drops from the various terraced levels and although these can be closed-off with safety gates, young children must be supervised!

ACCOMMODATION  -  8 PEOPLE 

Ground Floor – Entrance Hall and guest WC. Wood paneled dining room. L –shaped kitchen  and laundry room with service doors to exterior and first floor accommodation. Staff WC.  Spacious sitting room with open fire place, games table, bar and doors to covered terrace.

First Floor – Master double bedroom suite with dressing area and bathroom (bath, separate shower, double basins). Single bedroom (with extra pull out bed).   Bathroom with separate shower and double basins. Double bedroom.  Twin bedroom suite with shower bathroom. Steps to ground floor with a child proof gate.

STAFF  SERVICES

Resident  maid service 6 days p/week x 6 hours p/day. Cook Service on request and subject to availability. Gardener and pool maintenance.

DISTANCES

Sintra (museums, art galleries, shops, restaurants, etc), only 5 minutes walk; Estoril Casino & Tennis at 10 kms; Cascasi at 10 kms; Nearets Beach at 15 kms; Lisbon at 20 kms.                           

THINGS TO DO

• Visit the imposing Palacio de Queluz (located between Sintra and Lisbon) - Portugal’s own little “Versailles”
• We are happy to recommend a number of restaurants (in Lisbon) if you wish to listen to some “Fado"  - the Portuguese national song is mournful and sad and accompanied by guitars but quite an experience!
• Take the tram ride from the centre of Sintra, past the village of Colares and all the way to Praia das Maças for a day out at the beach

Flexible change-over days. Minimum rental period 1 week. Check-in after 16:00 hours/check-out  before 10:00 hours. Welcome Food Hamper on arrival included in the rental. Household linen & pool towels supplied/changed twice a week. Baby cot (w/linen) and high chair available on request.
